Evidence and innovation in psychiatry, psychology, and mental health
Scientia Psychiatrica (SciPsy) publishes original research articles, case reports and case series, narrative reviews, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses for an international scholarly audience.
Manuscripts that pass editorial screening undergo double-blind peer review by at least three independent reviewers. Articles are freely available immediately upon publication under the CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license. Authors retain copyright.
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
Authors acknowledge that, after acceptance, the article processing charge is IDR 1,500,000 or USD 100; there are no submission or review fees, and waivers or discounts are not available.
The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
The manuscript includes all applicable statements on ethics approval, informed consent, funding, competing interests, author contributions, data availability, and the use of artificial-intelligence tools.
A separate title page and an anonymized manuscript have been prepared; identifying information has been removed from the manuscript and file properties for double-blind peer review.
Authors retain copyright and agree, if the manuscript is accepted, to publication under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0).

Author Guidelines
All manuscripts must be submitted through the journal's online OJS submission system. Manuscripts sent only by email are not treated as formal submissions.
Before submission
Confirm that the manuscript is original, is not published, and is not under consideration elsewhere.
Ensure that every author meets the authorship criteria, approves the final manuscript, and provides an accurate affiliation and email address.
Disclose funding, competing interests, related manuscripts or preprints, data availability, ethics approval, informed consent, and material use of artificial-intelligence tools.
Remove author-identifying information from the anonymized manuscript file to support double-blind review.
Article types
Scientia Psychiatrica considers original research articles, case reports and case series, narrative reviews, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses within psychiatry, psychology, and mental health.
Case report or case series: title; abstract; keywords; introduction; case presentation; discussion; conclusion; patient-consent statement; references. Follow the CARE guideline where applicable.
Systematic review or meta-analysis: title; structured abstract; keywords; introduction; methods; results; discussion; conclusion; registration information where applicable; PRISMA checklist and flow diagram; references.
Narrative review: title; abstract; keywords; introduction; clearly organized thematic sections; conclusion; description of the literature-search approach; references.
Reporting standards
Authors should use the reporting guideline appropriate to the study design, including CONSORT, STROBE, PRISMA, CARE, STARD, ARRIVE, or another relevant guideline available through the EQUATOR Network.
Files and presentation
Submit an editable manuscript file in Microsoft Word or compatible format and upload tables, figures, supplementary files, and reporting checklists as appropriate.
Use clear academic English, continuous line numbering where possible, and standard international units.
Provide descriptive figure legends and table titles; protect participant identity in all images and data.
Use Vancouver-style references and include DOI or stable URLs when available.
Review and revision
Research articles undergo double-blind peer review by at least three independent reviewers. Revised submissions must include a point-by-point response explaining how each comment was addressed.
Fees, copyright, and license
There is no submission or review fee. After acceptance, the APC is IDR 1,500,000 or USD 100; waivers and discounts are not available. Authors retain copyright. Articles are published under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0.
Copyright Notice
As our aim is to disseminate original research article, hence the publishing right is a necessary one. The publishing right is needed in order to reach the agreement between the author and publisher. As the journal is fully open access, the authors will sign an exclusive license agreement.
The authors have the right to:
Share their article in the same ways permitted to third parties under the relevant user license.
Retain copyright, patent, trademark and other intellectual property rights including research data.
Proper attribution and credit for the published work.
For the open access article, the publisher is granted to the following right.
The non-exclusive right to publish the article and grant right to others.
For the published article, the publisher applied for the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License.
